Motion Sickness

Our sense of balance can be affected in connection with travelling by air, boat or car, which can subsequently result in such things as nausea, vomiting and cold sweats. All these are symptoms of motion sickness. Flights tend to be rather smooth and thus air sickness is not as common as sea sickness.

You can reduce the risk of motion sickness by avoiding fatty food, alcohol, reading and smoking. Eat small, light meals, have plenty to drink and, if possible, look at something far away toward the horizon.

You may also want to take some kind of motion sickness medication. Consult your pharmacist! Also keep in mind that you should take the motion sickness medication approximately 1-5 hours before departure. It is too late once you have already become sick.

Please note that such medicines can make you drowsy and delay your reflexes.
